REFLECTION ON OCTOBER 17, 1962 AND ITS READING BY THE SEPARATISTS OF 2021

In doing so, it clearly allowed certain parties and political groups to renew the debate on the same winning terms as in October 1962.
Indeed, its declaration accompanies and legitimizes the demand for the recognition of a “state crime” and its extension to the Algerian war, colonialism, slavery, etc.
Everyone agrees that it is a step and that another will follow.
They replace themselves there in the exact line of the fight of the FLN, at the exact point where this one had to leave it in France in 1962, to leave for Algeria.
This time, they no longer present themselves as liberators of an oppressed people but as factionists aiming to define, organize, direct, the public powers.
The breach in which these people are engulfed is the ignorance maintained for 60 years of the identity, and of the death toll of October 17 as well as those of their killers.
This omerta, recurrent on the part of all States, places the so-called representatives of victims on the same level of debate as the State since the number and the naming are theirs and are left to their own way.
