CONTRIBUTION (2) TO THE NATIONAL DEBATE
WISHED BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC IN 2019
A yellow vest has called the President
of the Republic while stating that he has not voted for years. He
replied in essence that when you do not vote you can not claim to
criticize or hinder the action of public authorities.
Many French people still believe in the
officiality of this logic of citizen responsibility and its social
significance.
a- They thus state it during their
steps for thirds near elective or administrative authorities; for
example for housing disabled people.
b- They think they arouse the interest
of the authorities towards these vulnerable people.
c- They then realize that it is not so.
d- Instead, they enter into an implicit
code of rejection based on the valorization of the tribe, the
networks, the associative corporatism, the between-ones.
e- It replaces the disgust now inspires
citizenship to the caciques of the Republic and its administrations.
If there is a quality not to mention in
a public or social service, with the services of a City Hall or an
elected representative; it is the quality of active voter.
This presidential response could have
sparked positive thinking twenty years ago.
Today, it presents itself as a further
slap in the face of those who know full well that their vote is, at
best, pocketed by the elect as a chore of the ancien regime and
generally regarded as a gross intrusion into a process. who,
basically, do not look at them.
It is also a question of making the
exercise of the right to vote compulsory to make it lose all meaning
of law and politics. So that it is publicly established that the
French are defeated.
